Who plays it? It’s a riveting miniature, my favorite part of the song, a gem nestled in the fadeout. It actually spurred me to concoct a theory about the meaning of a guitar solo, something I’ve never done before. The song tells the tale of a dysfunctional relationship of course, which for me gave rise to a question: what draws the narrator to such a troubled girl? The guitar answers the question -- they’re both very highly strung. But who plays it?
